Donna featured in all three of the novels released in late 2008. The Boxing Day 2008 release saw the series cover new ground with one book featuring Donna Noble, one book covering Martha Jones' adventures between the episodes \"The Sound of Drums\" (2007) and \"Last of the Time Lords\" (2007), and one book featuring the Doctor travelling without a companion following the events of \"Journey's End\" (2008). The 2009 releases (including 6 books in the main series, 1 novella and The Darksmith Legacy) all follow the mould of the Doctor travelling without a regular companion. These books also feature aliens from the New Series. Whilst this is not the first time this has happened (The Monsters Inside), it is the first time they are on the cover, or referenced in the title.
There is no Doctor Who canon and never could there be. Yes, there is official Doctor Who and there is Doctor Who continuity. Not all Doctor Who fits in to the main continuity of the series. Many of the BBC's Eighth Doctor Adventures deliberately took place in alternate universes like in Blue Angel. Sometimes the series deliberately wrote itself out of the time line like Alien Bodies to The Ancestor Cell and beyond, all taking place in a paradox ridden and some say aborted time line. Neat trick. Some eras of Doctor Who didn't take place in our universe, so no effect was mane in the time line, like the Doctor Who Big Finish 8th Doctor main range. Then there are Short Trips and Side Steps. Again, real life Doctor Who, but set in alternative universes, or take adventures on a different path than that of the established history of the Doctor. The comics of the Seventh Doctor often took place in alternative story lines as well. But they were all official Doctor Who.
So, farewell Jodie! What a brilliant Doctor she has been. I started this series of blog posts four years ago to celebrate her becoming ther new Doctor. As ever, I've identified all of the mobile phones used in Doctor Who. This blog post goes through the 2022 specials - three cracking stories to round out Jodie's tenure.
I'll be honest, it's getting harder and harder to tell the difference between phones these days. They're usually just anonymous black rectangles. But, as long as Doctor Who has mobile phones, I'll keep going with this daft series of posts. 781b155fdc
